Pride comes before a fall... and so does laughing at your kid's fall..
Who knew watching a video of your daughter falling on her face could be so funny?
Confession: I've probably watched this video, maybe 70 times... died laughing... don't judge me! If there's one thing I've learned from watching Ricki Lake Show reruns all winter its that "we dont judge". okay? fascist.

To ease my conscience, though, I have to tell you, Vanda and I watched it together at least 50 times... it just seemed to get funnier the more we watched it... but the very next day I got what I deserved in the form of my own ridiculously clumsy fall up the stairs, at a certain unnamed public place! Mercifully, no one else saw my sad crash landing.
...feel free to watch and laugh at our sweet daughter taking a header as many times as you'd like, laughing out-loud in the anonymity of your own home...

...by the way, Noelle is and was 100% fine... she never even cried...

Record Time
...thank you for your interest in our family....we'll take caller 10 right now if you wanna win tickets to the next baby jamboree (i.e., Tour de Babysitting)...
In the meantime, I'll get right to what you all came here for....pictures:
The other day, Kaira and I hung out while Vanda and Noelle were out running errands. Kaira loves the shiny black spinning things, which I tell her are called "records" and "albums" and "180 gram virgin carbon-blackened vinyl". As it turns out, she really likes the artwork too:
...she's going through a bit of a "January 1969" phase lately:

"Cream are, hands-down, the best 3-piece ever" - Kaira Ragland
...the turntable is safely out of reach... for now

...then Noelle and mama came home and joined the fun... and Noelle returned to her spotlight, beside Kaira...
..and we all played records. Kaira set aside a few to show Noelle, including Shiny Lady (i.e., Aretha Franklin)

...then we danced...
Kaira sports the tongue-out look a lot lately...even if she's dancing
...while Noelle digs the box
..then, the girls unwind with a quick jumparoo session before goin' "night night"
It was a great day.
P.S. ...the Excersaucer (TM) no longer fulfills the emotional needs of this eight-month-old

7 Months Already!!!
I swear, I blinked and it's now December! Sorry for such a looooooong period of nothingness. Everybody's here, healthy, alive, and okay. I think I just got distracted by all the daily tasks and let the updating of the blog slide. I can't believe it's been so long since I posted!
Well, the girls are almost 7 months old. How time flies. They are doing great. Lots of smiles and laughs. It's amazing how different they really are. When I think "twins" I always used to think "the same" which I've since learned is not true at all. The best description I've heard about fraternal twins is "siblings that happened to be born at the same time". Oh how true that is.
The girls are now eating solids once a day. They LOVE sweet potatoes, squash, pears, and carrots, but: peas and green beans....NO THANK YOU! Noelle is SO close to crawling, she scoots a lot and rocks back and forth on all fours. Every day I hope to look over and see her first crawl. Kaira, however....oh sweet Kaira. Don't put her on her tummy...don't even try it! While she has become more tolerant of it lately, she will usually immediately roll onto her back and stay there.
Kaira enjoys peek-a-boo and "dog-bunny" (dog-bunny is a small white stuffed bunny that likes to play peek-a-boo with Kaira and says "woof" when he surprises her...because really, what sound does a bunny make?!?!) while Noelle is fascinated with the lights on the computer and my cell phone.
No teeth yet but we know they're on their way....or at least that's what I attribute any fussiness to! :-) They're still sleeping great, about 13 hours a night.
In other news, we will start our house hunt in January. We are so excited and can't wait to start looking! It seems like half the fun.
Here are just a few pictures for now and I promise to be better about updating the blog in the future so my faithful 4 or 5 readers won't think I've abandoned them! :-)

Washington Trip
We had the opportunity to take the girls up through Washington to visit a few different family members. This was our first long road trip since the girls so I was a little worried about how they would do. Luckily they slept most of the way! We were so glad that we went and can't wait to do it again soon. Here are a few pictures from our travels.
First we headed to the "Big Island" to see my sister and her family.
Mama and N waiting for the San Juan Ferry

Papa and K overcome with amazement

Cousin K excited about seeing her "baby cousins"

Aunt A with little miss K

Papa and N

Papa with cousin L discussing current events

Cousin K after one of her many "take my picture!" requests, soon to be followed by a "I wanna see my picture" requests

Aunt A fascinated with Baby N who is fascinated with Cousin K

Cousins!

Mamas and Babies

The Bumbo: not just for babies anymore

Cousin L with Baby K (hmmmm....who's hand is that?)

Walking to the Villages Saturday Market

Sisters

Next we headed back to the mainland for a visit with Steve's parents.
Grandpa with Baby N

Grammy with Baby K

A calm moment after Baby K's bottle

A tired Baby N taking her sweet time but Grammy doesn't seem to mind

Our last stop was to visit Steve's aunt, uncle and a couple of cousins in Olympia.

I wanna go HOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMEEEEEEEE!!!!!

All in all, a fun trip!
